Leaders across Romania find innovative responses to complex challenges. For the 14th year in a row, The Development Center for Management (CDM) will host their Power through People conference. Glenda Eoyang will present three public programs to help leaders find the practical insights from complexity science to help them thrive in this Age of Uncertainty.

  • Winning the Infinite Game
  • Cope with Chaos
  • Lead in Uncertainty

Complexity can be an engine for innovation, but it also generates challenges for you, as a leader. Uncertainty that comes with complex systems creates problems that seem intractable. To be a successful leader, you must build relationships and break habits of thought and action, establish new patterns of performance, collaborate with partners. Ultimately, to succeed you must create products, services, and cultures that help people thrive in an unpredictable and turbulent future.

As a leader for tomorrow, you face wicked problems as you:

  • Resolve conflicts
  • Collaborate with partners
  • Plan in unpredictable environments
  • Learn at the speed of change
  • Engage across boundaries and differences
  • Anticipate shifts in the market and competitors’ strategies
  • Spark and sustain innovation

You know how to succeed when the path is clear and the future is certain, but rapid change demands different leadership skills. Glenda Eoyang, and her approach to Human Systems Dynamics, will teach you how to win at this new and challenging game. In this session, you will:

  • Focus on your own most wicked leadership issues
  • Distinguish between problems (that can be solved) and patterns (that must be influenced)
  • Practice using inquiry to see new possibilities in complex challenges
  • Learn three tools to lead for success, even in the most challenging times
  • Leave with an action plan to tame your wicked problem, and the capacity to engage with wicked issues that are sure to emerge for you and your team in the future

This program will be most useful for people who feel stuck in the challenges of a complex environment. This can include:

  • Executives and board members of companies and NGOs
  • Technical experts dealing with fast-changing and/or uncertain requirements
