Dwight has participated in performance improvement (both for himself and others) throughout most of his 28 year career. Across 3 very different industries, he is and has been a student, advocate, educator and designer of elegant solutions which help people and organizations perform better.
Dwight “learned the trade” in the oil fields of west Texas and on the drilling rigs and production platforms offshore Louisiana. He learned from some pretty interesting characters while analyzing and designing competency-based learning materials for mechanical and electrical crafts persons.
After developing design skills, he took the opportunity to lead a small team doing similar projects, and then moved on to leadership development, where he created a customized learning system for front-line supervisors. The organization was undergoing substantial change at the time the learning system was introduced and the skills applied served to stabilize the workforce by developing a common language and processes regarding change.
Dwight currently supports a team of learning and development professionals as they partner with the leadership of the brewery to improve the competencies of 440 Technicians and skilled trades persons. He is also working on a methodology to improve the coaching skills of leaders across the organization.
