David is a business psychologist. He joined Roffey Park Institute as a Senior Consultant in 2004. A key member of Roffey Park’s OD and Leadership Development teams, he also leads on the work they do with universities across the UK.
His work includes the design, implementation, and evaluation of assignments in leadership development, assessment, change management, interpersonal influence, and personal profiling. His recent major assignments have included: working with a top team to look at the governance implications of a merger; creating new senior leadership programmes for two widely differing universities, a senior leadership development programme for a leading financial institution, and a culture change programme for a local authority.
Alongside these, David is an active coach to senior people in a number of clients, and supports clients with consultancy and delivery in leadership, OD, and change. Amongst his other client work, he provides guidance on assessment and development to a large legal practice, and works closely with the partners of another. Within Roffey Park’s open programme portfolio, David leads on change and contributes actively to Roffey Park’s leadership, OD and strategy programmes and is Programme Director for Leading and Delivering Lasting Change.
David has spent much of his career working with senior managers in the technology and services sector, in Higher Education, and has worked extensively in the NHS in Wales, developing leadership capability in both clinical and non-clinical groups. David’s early career was in Corporate Banking where he played significant roles in implementing major change initiatives and marketing programmes, leading large teams and managing substantial budgets. His depth of knowledge and practical line experience are particular strengths. His writing credits include books on influencing and the marketing of training, and articles on feedback, selection, and recruitment. His work takes him across the UK and Europe, and occasionally further afield.
