The Human Systems Dynamics Institute is a non-profit organization whose mission is to
facilitate the development of theory and practice in the field of human systems dynamics.
Human systems dynamics is an emerging field of research and practice that applies principles of complexity and chaos theory to the study of groups of people as they live and work together in teams, organizations, corporations, and communities.
The Institute is organized around a set of simple rules that guides the actions of its staff, HSDI Board members, and Associates. These rules are established to nurture the self-organization of currently existing diverse webs into one international network of individuals and organizations. This network explores all facets of human systems dynamics to increase the capacity for dealing with complex human interactions.
The Institute exists to support individuals and groups who
- inquire into the theories and concepts of Human Systems Dynamics,
- work in research and development in the fields of complexity and human systems,
- apply the concepts and principles of complexity in their own organizations and work, and
- provide training and development opportunities based on the concepts and principles of complexity.
To provide that support, the Institute offers services through four components.
